Two at Daly Waters by Elisabeth George - book review

So I picked up this book from the Daly Waters pub when I was travelling north back in...2013 maybe. I always love buying books written by locals that you can find in information centres or roadhouses. This one was a fabulous find. Two at Daly Waters is a f
ascinating account of white people living in remote Central Australia. Strange and deeply poignant to read of how white settlers viewed Indigenous 'natives' and the unfolding of the Stolen Generation.

Would recommend to those who enjoyed We of the Never Never as there are similar characters and challenges, but the tone of the author is very different. Where Jeannie Gunn was prone to whimsy, the protagonist here, Mrs Pearce, is quite frank. She also lived in the area for much longer and the changing face of the outback over her time there makes this an important historical account.
